Pop Music

For a project at EINA Centro Universitario de Diseño y Arte, I created a project exploring environmental graphic design. This fictional art exhibition is placed in MACBA (The Museum of Contemporary Art of Barcelona), and imagines an art exhibition inspired by various musical genres.  In the Pop Music section, shapes from the main exhibition promotional materials were used to make patterns for wall coverings in the space, and the overall design evokes the feeling of pop music – fun, happy, catchy, trendy, and at times, artificial. Recognizable song lyrics (from Beyoncé, Brittany Spears, Madonna, and others) were placed in playful lines on walls of solid color, contrasting with more heavily decorated areas. The entire exhibition space intends to bring the visitor into an immersive pop music experience.
